SC Pannell Wines is a small, family owned winery founded 2004 by Stephen Pannell and his wife Fiona Lindquist. The winery was realised to focus on Stephen’s passion for the McLaren Vale region and its ability to produce dry – grown and environmentally sustainable Shiraz and Grenache. In his capacity as Chief Red Wine Maker at Hardy’s he gained an intimate knowledge of the region’s vineyards and sub-regional differences and was able to secure exquisite parcels of old-vine Grenache and Shiraz from low yielding, dry grown fruit sources. In ensuing years, Stephen has also turned to the Adelaide Hills, the escarpment which runs above the McLaren Vale in the south and continues through toward the Barossa in the North to create a series of textural, aromatic whites as well as a highly awarded cool climate Syrah. After returning from working with Aldo Vajra in Barolo in 2004 he received a request […]

Winners of the Best Restaurant in a Club/Pub/Tavern at the 2016 Savour Australia Restaurant and Catering Awards for Excellence. The Queen’s Head Hotel is not the oldest hotel in South Australia but it is the oldest licensed venue in an original building. Historically the Queen’s Head Hotel is significant as it is associated with the first part of North Adelaide’s settlement and became and important venue for public meetings. First opening in 1838 (licensed on the 17th of July 1838) by Giles Abbott Senior and Henry Grigg Hewitt. In 1839 Giles Abbott Seniors son Giles Abbott became the publican of the Queen’s Head Hotel. He had travelled out to Australia on board the ship “buffalo” with the first governor of South Australia. Charles Hindmarsh. The Queen’s Head Hotel has had several alterations to the exterior over the years. The facade that you see today is that of the rebuilding of 1881, essentially the front two rooms. The simplistic design and detailing was by R.B. Lucas. Internally the Queen’s Head Hotel has been continually updated since the original opening in 1838 to suit the requirement of each time period. In 1935 the publican applied to be permitted to relocate the Queen’s […]

The Kent Town Hotel is more than just a pub, but with 30 different craft beers and ciders on tap we’ve definitely got your drinking needs covered. Coming to the Kent Town is like getting three, distinct venues all in one. First, the Crafty Monkey Bar and Bistro had indoor/outdoor seating and cosy fireplaces for any weather or occasion plus a HUGE menu with something to satisfy everyone. Then there’s the amazing Jungle Restaurant, which boasts Adelaide’s only Brazilian Churrasco grill! Dine out on prime cuts of meat all carved at your table – what’s not to love? (Of course, there’s a vegetarian menu and a la carte dining available too!). Finally, the Rooftop on Rundle, with it’s superb views of the city, and huge outdoor TV screen with live entertainment on Friday Saturday nights, buskers and brews on Sundays, plus Adelaide’s only dunk tank. Functions , meetings and celebrations are our specialty with three dedicated function areas and the capacity to cater for up to 450 people. Contact our dedicated Functions Manager for more information and help planning your next big event by email: functions@kenttownhotel.com.au.
