The Limestone Coast is halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne - a four-hour drive, or one-hour flight from either city. The region reaches south down the coast from the Coorong National Park to the Victorian border, and inland through farming country to the famous Coonawarra wine region.

All wine regions have in common a corps of people who appreciate and demand fine food to showcase their wines which, is why a network of regional restaurants of flair and distinction has grown up around the vineyards of Coonawarra and Padthaway virtually all of which emphasize the succulent local meats. Keep an eye out for charolais beef, venison, duck and emu steaks, as well as kangaroo.
